Evaluation of Effect of Brassinolide in Brassica juncea Leaves under Drought Stress in Field Conditions

Drought stress is considered to be a major factor responsible for reduced agricultural productivity, because it often linked other abiotic stresses, such as salinity and heat stress. Understanding drought-tolerance mechanisms important crop improvement. Moreover, under drought conditions, possible that growth regulators are able protect the plants. Brassinosteroids not only play regulatory role in plant growth, but also organize defense against various tresses. This study aimed evaluate effect of brassinolide on physio-biochemical amendment two contrasting cultivars (drought-tolerant RH 725, drought-sensitive 749) Brassica juncea Two foliar sprayings with (10 20 mg/L) were carried out both (RH 725 at stages—i.e., flower initiation, 50% flowering—under conditions. The results clearly revealed activities antioxidative enzymes non-enzymatic antioxidants (carotenoids, ascorbic acid, proline) increased significantly flowering, whereas mg/L showed most promising response. different oxidative indicators (i.e., hydrogen peroxide, malondialdehyde, electrolyte leakage) decreased significant extent spray flowering. indicates intensifies attributes by improving antioxidant system photosynthetic efficiency It assumed enhanced production proline, improvement system, reduction amount impart strength plants combat
